I was rushed to Riverside Community Hospital’s Emergency Room in April of 2022 with abdominal pain. At once, I was attended by the receptionist and taken back to examined by a nurse. The nurse treated me as if I were the only patient in the ER; he bestowed upon me a lot of compassionate medical care.
I was taken to an patient room later that evening. The nurses, physicians and nursing assistants on the floor were all very caring with my needs and requests. Dr. Aras Emdadi, my surgeon, explained his findings when he reviewed the radiology images of my abdominal area. Later, he performed surgery for my punctured colon.
After my surgery, the removed specimen was sent to pathology and I was diagnosed with colon cancer. I have been under the care of Dr. Emdadi since my surgery and incredibly grateful to him for being a knowledgeable and compassionate physician.
Dr. Emdadi directed me to Yolanda Lozano, RN, Nurse Navigator, for any of my concerns after my surgery. She has been a lot of help through my journey of colon cancer and knowledgeable in every aspect. Yolanda replies to all my phone calls and emails at once with caring answers. Having her with me throughout this journey has really helped me and my wife.
I am now in chemotherapy. Dr. Brian Choi and his staff are compassionate with my care and to all patients here. Dr. Shawn Couture with his office staff have been involved with my illness right from the beginning. Medical advice, supplies and forms have been easily taken care of because of them. They understand the needs to every patient.
With the care from the fantastic professionals that are involved with my care at Riverside Community Hospital makes my heart is full of gratitude.
