Riverside, CA — Riverside Community Hospital, an affiliate of HCA Healthcare, announced today Jesse Roque has been named Chief Nursing Officer effective August 5, 2024.
Jesse has been with HCA Healthcare since 2009 where he held various leadership roles in critical care in El Paso, Texas. In 2021, he became associate chief nursing officer at Las Palmas Medical Center and, a year later, became chief nursing officer at West Hills Hospital and Medical Center in West Hills, California. During his tenure at West Hills, Jesse helped to reduce hospital acquired infections by 33%, decreased nurse vacancies by 21% and brought the hospital to rank #6 out of 184 HCA Healthcare facilities for patient experience.
In March of 2024, West Hills Hospital and Medical Center was acquired from HCA Healthcare by UCLA Health. Jesse stayed with the facility as chief nursing officer and led the transition through onboarding and integration of nursing functions related to nursing practice, human resources, employee relations and labor relations.
“We are happy to welcome Jesse to the team,” said Peter Hemstead, chief executive officer at Riverside Community Hospital. “Jesse brings a wealth of experience and his growth with HCA Healthcare has demonstrated an outstanding ability to adapt, take ownership and lead positive change for patients and nurses.”
“I am eager to collaborate with the talented team at Riverside Community Hospital to create an environment where teamwork and communication are at the forefront of our efforts,” said Jesse. “I am excited to engage with the Inland Empire community and build strong relationships that will support the health and well-being of our patients and their families.”
Jesse and his wife, Natalie, and their two daughters, Brianna (9) and Emma (6), will be relocating to the greater Riverside area.
